Mediation: using AI to prepare a conversation without speaking for the parties
A chronology and open questions can support preparation. A drafting tool does not thereby become a mediator.

Make the disagreement easier to read
Two business partners disagree about expenses. In this fictional example, their emails mix amounts, earlier decisions and personal criticism. With appropriate support, each can prepare a note separating agreed facts, disputed facts and expectations for the future.
FPS Justice describes mediation as a structured process with the help of a mediator. An application that rewrites notes does not perform that role. It may still help with preliminary work by making the issues for discussion easier to understand.
Turn accusations into questions
The tool can be asked to replace a statement that someone never respects agreements with a question about specific commitments and what happened. The person then checks whether the revised wording preserves their intended meaning. A calmer sentence must not erase an important fact or imply agreement that does not exist.
Another exercise separates a request from its purpose. Asking for a monthly meeting may reflect a need for visibility over spending. Understanding that need can help prepare several options for discussion without predicting which one the other person will accept.
Protect the discussion space
Confidential mediation documents should not be sent to an external tool without examining the applicable framework and commitments already made. An abstract scenario may be enough to practise formulating a question. Working drafts should remain clearly identified as provisional.
A lawyer can help the client organise questions requiring advice, relevant documents and possible consequences of a proposal. The assistant should not assign a supposedly reliable numerical probability of agreement based on a few paragraphs. The matter remains dependent on the people and circumstances involved.
Define a reasonable benefit
The intended result is a better prepared participant who can explain the situation and identify what remains unclear. The quality of an agreement depends on the discussion, its substance and its legal framework. Preparation can support dialogue, but it guarantees neither agreement nor judicial approval. The distinction keeps the tool’s contribution practical and credible.
